First Finger: Think of someone you are grateful for.

A friend, a partner, a parent, someone you have met, someone you haven’t met, your baby, a doctor, a nurse. Anyone.

Second Finger: Think of something you are grateful for.

Maybe you are grateful for your car or washing machine. You could be thankful for your heater or air conditioner. Maybe it’s your bottle warmer or coffee pot. Maybe it’s the new parent group you found online.

Third Finger: Some time you are grateful for.

This can be something from now or from the past. Maybe it’s graduating from high school or college, getting a job you wanted, meeting with friends last year.

Fourth Finger: Something in you or about you that you are grateful for.

Are you grateful for your courage? Your sense of humor or your ability to roll with thing? Are you grateful because you don’t give up? Are you a good cook? Or are you grateful for just being here and being you and that’s enough.

Fifth Finger: Anything you are grateful for.

This is where you can just think of anything. Maybe it’s your dog, your cat, the bird outside, the sunset, the wind, the trees, the grass, the ground you can walk on, colors, paint, brownies, funny tv shows.
